What does each test check?
The mouse test checks every button, the scroll wheel and cursor drift, plus phantom double-clicks. The keyboard test checks every key for chatter, rollover ghosting and keys that never register.
Should I test my mouse or my keyboard first?
Either order works. If clicks feel wrong, start with the mouse test; if a key sticks or repeats, start with the keyboard test. The mouse test runs right here; the keyboard test is one click away.
Do these tests work on a laptop?
Yes. A laptop trackpad reports left and right clicks like a mouse; turn on the Trackpad toggle in the mouse test to skip the buttons it does not have. The keyboard test covers the compact layouts laptops use.
Do these tests upload anything?
No. Every keystroke and click is read in your browser and nothing is recorded or sent to a server.
